Misc

[5/10, 4:07 PM] Doris Mok: Actually I did not have full time call. Since college, every time I pray, it is back to professional work. After marriage,  it is being a helper as pastor's wife. That I have great peace. I love psychology, much like 宋尚節described his passion for chemistry in his biography. God bless me and the teaching career is for sure His gift and plan. Lots of testimonies to praise God. But after illness, God says I am also His servant. Luke 1:38. The very basic. The toughest is John 12: 24-28.  Particularly v26. If we serve Him, we need to follow. Where He is, we also shall be there. Need to be "there" in His suffering. But after my illness, I am less clear about my choices. Sometimes practical, medical insurance, $ for housing, sometimes ministries in Macau (passion real) sometimes success, want full professorship, etc. Vic comforted me I have already done a lot...pastor's wife itself is sufficient.

I thought about your question a lot -- even if I am given more time and life on earth, I may do just about the same thing. Even in career pursuits, I seek to honor God. I have not quite sacrificed ministries for career.  BUT -- what I confess, instead of seeking to be 良善又忠心的僕人, I focused too much on the talents Jesus dispense. How many talents He would give me next or what is the next trophy to get...
If the Lord grant more time on earth, can I be better? No. Unless God. Talents finally lost it meaning. If I were to "choose" again, I would want to be focused on being a godly servant. 你知唔知我講乜?有時Victor 都唔明!It is difficult to explain this to others, let alone  in a short blog entry,  so the best is simply to say to set aside secular and self centered career pursuits and serve the Lord.  😄

[5/10, 7:03 PM] Doris Mok: 是的the task is unimportant, the quality of the person allows us to really see the power of God.
[5/10, 7:04 PM] Doris Mok: Yes I would hope I curb my desires for trophies😄 and experience the power of God.
